Bodyships 2025, directed by Blanka Kęstowicz

Bodyships 2025 This is a stage hybrid; a musical-multimedia performance with elements of contemporary opera, directed by Blanka Kęstowicz, portraying a love relationship between people separated by light-years. Their communication occurs through radio signals – communicative snippets of information – maps and symbols. It is also the story of their virtual child.
The form of this stage hybrid is based on a dialogue between film and theatrical staging – two parallel time-spaces. These harmonize with the music composed by Maria Łojko, a student at the Academy of Music in Łódź, and the libretto written by Blanka Kęstowicz. The main issue addressed in this stage hybrid is isolation. The theme of transhumanism also appears, provoking questions about moral boundaries and the future of humanity. In this performance, it functions under the guise of digital video. The world has been transferred to the digital, has passed its vanishing point, and appears on screen.
like its reflection. Or perhaps it's a disorienting series of reflections that brings us closer to the mystery?

The project is a collaboration between students from the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of Arts in Poznań and the Academy of Music in Łódź. The performance was created as part of the diploma work of Blanka Kęstowicz, a third-year undergraduate student specializing in Experimental Film.
